About Me

For me, photography has always been about finding the beauty in the world and trying to convey the feeling of that moment through photographs.

I've been taking photos for about as long as I can remember. My first camera was an AGFA Ambi Silette, a German-made camera that my father bought in Europe while he was in the Navy in the late 1950's.

It was, of course, a 100% manually operated camera, because an automatic 35mm camera had not yet been invented. It had three interchangeable lenses, a light meter, a small tripod, and a few other accessories.

What it didn't have when it was handed down to me was an INSTRUCTION MANUAL! The learning curve was steep, but having to learn about shutter speed, aperture, and lighting "the hard way" was incredibly helpful in understanding how cameras and photography work.

For several decades, I've been taking photos and sharing them with friends, many of whom have encouraged me to sell them. Over the past few years, I've done a few in-person shows with some success, and now I'm expanding into online sales.

I hope you enjoy my work. Please use the Contact button to let me know what you think of the website and/or my photos.

Thanks for looking!

About the Dog

One of my favorite hiking and paddling companions is Duncan - a 9 year old Pug, Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Toy Poodle, Boston Terrier, Pomeranian, Pekingese mix (yes, really). His favorite thing in the world is to be out on a big explore. This works out well, since it's one of my favorite things, too. Naturally, his image appears in my photos from time to time.

When I first started showing/selling photographs, I would show one or two of my favorite shots of him, but label them "Not For Sale", because why would anyone want to buy a photo of my dog, right? But people kept asking to purchase them, so I started letting them (Haha! What a nice guy!).

I've included a few of my favorites on this website.
